Job Description for Head of Business Development

Position Description: Assume overall responsibility for the performance of the business development team and achievement of sales targets   

Location: Taipei City  

Start Date: Mid-December     

Basic Requirements:                                     

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in B2B training
  2. Native English speaker
  3. Fluent in all MS Office applications (Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook)
  4. Able to produce basic marketing materials
  5. Capable of managing a small team
  6. Strong presentation skills
  7. Comfortable making cold calls
  8. Professional in appearance, attitude and tone
  9. Naturally outgoing personality
  10. Able to negotiate terms and conditions effectively

Desired Aptitudes/Experience:                                 

  1. 3 years' experience in B2B sales
  2. Effective project management skills
  3. Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  4. Detail-oriented, well-organized and target-focused
  5. Experience managing a team a plus
  6. Ability to build strong professional network
  7. Ability to work independently and under pressure
  8. Proactive in resolving problems
  9. Ability to listen and ask the right questions
  10. Intermediate Mandarin Chinese (nice to have)
  11. Client-oriented and committed to delivering quality services

Responsibilities:                                              

  1. Manage team of 2 BD Executives:

    -- provide product and sales training wherever needed
    -- monitor achievement of individual targets on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
    -- ensure all target prospects are being contacted in a timely manner and CRM records kept up-to-date
    -- provide guidance on lead generation
    -- support with client visits and presentations and wherever necessary to help close prospects
    -- oversee and support with all external client proposals
    -- conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reviews

  2. Develop selected high-potential business leads that generate at least NT$3m annually
  3. Conduct ongoing client visits as required 
  4. Handle client RFPs/RFQs in a timely manner
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients and support sales activities as needed
  6. Coordinate effectively with colleagues in other departments when processing new projects
  7. Develop, maintain and document sales pipeline and coordinate with Operations on staffing requirements
  8. Maintain accurate, up-to-date system records on all clients and BD activities    
  9. Maintain/update web site content, social media content and other marketing materials
  10. Stay abreast of market trends and the competitor landscape

Monthly:

  1. Achieve team target of reaching 120 unique, new clients by phone                          
  2. Achieve team target of visiting 12 brand new clients                        
  3. Present monthly report to MD                  
  4. Achieve team target of closing 3 brand new clients                          

Annually:

  1. Achieve team target of developing relationships with 1400 unique, new clients
  2. Achieve team sales target of NT$13m
  3. Close 36 brand new clients

Package

  1. NT$70,000 base (12 months)
  2. 10% commission on all new sales for first 12 months (target NT$3m)
  3. 5% commission on all existing sales for accounts over 12 months' old
  4. Target achievement bonus (BD team): 5% commission on team's sales
  5. 2.5% commission on annual BD team sales (if at least 80% of target, but under 100%)
  6. Overall company target achievement: NT$11K - 33K/month (targets 1, 2 and 3)
