Reach To Teach is looking for a qualified private school teacher who is willing to teach ages 6 through 10. (Up to Grade 4) in Taipei's Zhongshan District. (Brown line of Taipei MRT system)

Each classroom has one lead teacher responsible for the overall classroom, children, and learning experiences. Lead teachers are supported by a full-time bilingual assistant teacher in their classroom. The lead teacher will use our curriculum resources (we have a flexible and extensive written curriculum), materials, and knowledge of education to achieve our learning outcomes in a collaborative environment.

You must have formal teaching experience and the listed qualifications to be considered for a job at this school.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who sees themself as a teacher of young children. The successful candidate will possess an ability to connect with children, collaborate and learn with other teachers, and have a flexible mindset in order to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities and challenges.

Start Date: February 3, 2025

TEACHING REQUIREMENTS:

• Full university degree, preferably in Education
• At least one year of formal classroom teaching experience in a school setting. 
• 120-hour TEFL minimum. Public school teaching certification preferred unless you have a TEFL with experience in Asian classrooms with this age group.
• Clear National Background Check from your home country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the US)

This school will give preference (and a higher rate of pay) to teachers that have:

• A university degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a PGCE
• A teaching license for K through Grade 3.
• Experience in a progressive program or familiarity with progressive pedagogical practices 

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

1. MONTHLY SALARY: Earn between NT$75,000 and NT$85,000 per month (depending on education, experience, and qualifications) 
2. PAID NATIONAL HOLIDAYS PLUS 7 DAYS OF PERSONAL PAID TIME OFF
3. SICK LEAVE: 12 days per year (half-day pay with doctor's note as per labor laws)

Additional Job Details:

• Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5:15pm with a one hour lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30pm. There is additional prep time from 4:30-5:15pm each day.
• Office hours: 11 hours per week for planning lesson plans, grading, greeting parents and students, and monitoring your classroom
• Class size: 16-20 students per class
• Teaching materials and books provided by the school
