This is our general application for all teaching positions in locations throughout Taiwan. During your interview, our staff will introduce you to the teaching environment in Taiwan. They'll go over various job applications with you. You'll be presented with a MINIMUM of 2-3 jobs and we encourage you to interview with as many of our schools as you wish.

What are the requirements for teaching English in Taiwan?
- A full University degree
- You must be a native English speaker from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa and the United States
- 120-hour+ TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification
- Clear National Criminal Background Check from your home country (We can help you fast track this document if you would like our assistance.)
- Note: Taiwan does NOT accept online degrees of any kind. If your university is registered as an online university, we're sorry to tell you that the government will not issue you a work permit to teach in Taiwan.
- Clean bill of health. Teachers must be able to pass Taiwan government's health check upon arrival in Taiwan. Please disclose information to your recruiter so we can assist you and ensure you can pass the labor department's requirements for teaching work permits.
Typical Job Duties of an ESL Teacher in Taiwan
- 20-25 in class teaching hours per week
- 5-15 office hours per week
- Teacher training is provided. Your school will have materials for use during ESL lesson preparation.
- In addition to your time spent in the classroom you will administer tests, grade papers and participate in school meetings with your Taiwanese co-teachers.
English Teachers receive the following benefits:
- We have pay by the hour positions that offer NT700 per hour or more. Earn $22-$30US/CDN per hour with low office hours. (Reach To Teach does not work with schools that pay less than NT$700 per hour.)
- We also offer salaried positions that start at NT$65,000 to NT$75,000 per month. Earn US$2,000-$2,500 / CDN$3,200-$3,600 per month. Some of our schools will offer as much as NT85,000+ or more for teachers who have specialized training.
- Taiwan offers a low cost of living. You can live on $1,200-$1,500 per month while still enjoying life in Asia.
